Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are the latest celebrities joining the cause to help raise money for Ukrainian relief efforts.

For Kunis, who was born in Ukraine, the fundraising mission is a personal one.

The couple announced the news on Instagram Thursday.

“I was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine in 1983,” said Kunis in the video. “I came to America in 1991. I have always considered myself an American, a proud American. I love everything that this country has done for myself and my family. But today I have never been more proud to be a Ukrainian.”

Kutcher added,

“And I’ve never been more proud to be married to a Ukrainian."

Kunis then continued,

“The events that have unfolded in Ukraine are devastating. There is no place in this world for this kind of unjust attack on humanity."

More than 1 million Ukrainians have already fled their country since the beginning of the Russian invasion on February 24.

The actors have set up a GoFundMe page to raise money, which will then be used to support Flexport and Airbnb.

Kutcher wrote in the caption of the post,

"Flexport.org is organizing shipments of relief supplies to refugee sites in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova. Airbnb.org is providing free, short-term housing to refugees fleeing Ukraine."

Kunis concluded the video calling on people to do their part and donate if they can.

“The people of Ukraine are strong and brave, but being strong and brave doesn’t mean you’re not worthy of support. We need to support the people of Ukraine."

The couple has already raised over $16 million of their $30 million goal.

Kutcher and Kunis are the latest celebrities to take an active part in raising money for Ukrainian relief efforts after couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds pledged to match $1 million in donations earlier in the week.
