Like much of the music world, Miley Cyrus is in mourning. Holding back tears, Cyrus recalled to the Lollapalooza crowd how much Foo Fighter star Taylor Hawkins meant to her.

She had plans to spend time on the festival circuit with the Foo Fighters drummer, whose death was announced on March 25.

Cyrus announced that she was dedicating her Saturday performance at Lollapalooza in Brazil to the late Foo Fighters drummer in a tweet shared prior to the show.

"Tonight's show is in honor of my friend Taylor Hawkins. The most badass dude I know who would want me to shine and sing LOUD for the love of rock n roll!" the singer wrote.

The singer's sister, Brandi Cyrus, shared a clip of the tribute on her Instagram Story, showing Cyrus performing the track.

"We had to make an emergency landing, and the first person I called was Taylor because he was already at the festival, and that would have been a time that I would have gotten to see my friend, and I didn't," Cyrus said. "I would have done anything to hang out with him one more time."
Cyrus continued, "But I know any time that I get on stage and any time I get to play with my band … Which, if anything ever f—ing happened to any one of them, it would f—ing kill me, so I couldn't imagine how to the Foo Fighters feel today … But this song is called 'Angels Like You,' and I want to dedicate it to Taylor."

Seated in front of Hawkins' beautiful, smiling photo, Cyrus performed "Angels Like You," a rock ballad from her Plastic Hearts album.

Cyrus has been a fan of the Foo Fighters for years and reportedly became closer with Hawkins when they worked together for their Billy Idol collaboration "Night Crawling." The track was featured on Cyrus' 2021 rock crossover record "Plastic Hearts."
