Gabriel Iglesias Tells Us About Season 3 Of 'Mr. Iglesias'

Celebrity Page TV, Arthur Kade

#MrIglesias is Netflix's favorite teacher and here's how he's evolving for season three:

Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias has played school teacher Mr. Iglesias for three seasons now on Netflix. The comedian is chatting with Advocate Channel senior correspondent and Endless Hustle Podcast host Arthur Kade to talk about what's to come for the character in the latest season.

A Latino Leading Man On Television

Mr. Iglesias' character is someone who is an influential role model for the young. Kade asks him what it's like playing such a leader on a show that has grown in success. He jokes, saying how he is responsible for the performance of Mr. Iglesias:

"I never saw myself as a leading man but its a really good place to be. If the show does well, I get all the credit and, uh, if it tanks, I take all the blame as well."

A Love Interest For Mr. Iglesias

In the latest season of Mr. Iglesias, the zany teacher finds himself with a love interest among the school's staff members. He tells us how that, on top of wearing something other than his signature shorts, make this season a new experience for him:

"Let me tell you, that's something I wasn't sure how it was gonna play out but you definitely want to see this 'cause it's me in an environment that I'm not used to. As it is, there's an episode where I wore pants and that was awkward enough. But now to have somebody that, you know, could potentially be, uh, something, yea you want to see this."

Stepping Away From Live Stand-Up

Fluffy made a name for himself through his stand-up shows. Now that those have been out of the picture this past year due to the pandemic, he has started to miss performing live:

"I miss it very much, it's the longest I've gone without performing and, you know, I can't wait to get back to it. But, I've finally had time to address certain health issues and get on a good workout routine and start eating better and take care of myself. So I'm down about 60 pounds and I don't think that would have been possible if I was still grinding it out on the road."

Until Gabriel Iglesias gets back on the road, we can enjoy all three seasons of Mr. Iglesias on Netflix.
