Camp by Walmart

As the COVID-19 pandemic has left many summer camps closed for the season, parents find themselves wondering how to occupy their young ones for the summer. In the beginning of the month, Walmart launched a virtual summer camp for kids to join from home, narrated by actor Neil Patrick Harris.

By downloading the Walmart app, parents and their kids are able to choose from different activities to take part in Camp by Walmart. Celebrities like Drew Barrymore, Neil Patrick Harris, LeBron James, Idina Menzel and Todd Oldham are all part of this project to make this summer a little bit better for kids with nowhere to go and nothing to do. Along with these celebs, CAMP, a Family Experience Company, is also producing the program which will be powered by eko, for their interactive video platform.

As of the start date, July 8th, 50 Camp by Walmart activities arer available to families across the nation with 200 more activities to come in the following weeks.

Walmart Drive-In Theaters

As many public movie theaters have been closed during quarantine, drive-in movie theaters have become increasingly popular again as of this year. Walmart decided to take action on this trend and staring in August, over 160 Walmart parking lots will become drive-in theaters. Walmart is working with Tribeca Enterprises to show hit movies, with "special appearances from filmmakers and celebrities and concessions delivered right to customer vehicles."

Walmart drive-ins will start early August and run until October. Until then, families can start Camp by Walmart now on the Walmart app.
