According to Filmed On Stage, Netflix is currently in talks/negotiations to film several big broadway musicals. These musicals include Ain't Too Proud, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Tina. These three musicals will join the previously announced filmed musical, Diana. Filmed musicals or pro-shots have always been difficult for musicals due to the amount of money pro-shots cost. Netflix plans to fix this by funding each project under "Netflix Originals."

Filmed With No Audience

All 4 of these musicals coming to Netflix will be filmed with no audience. Since March, Broadway has been shut down due to the coronavirus. This has left thousands of actors out of work and billions lost in terms of revenue for NYC. Filming without an audience will bring actors back to work and get them paid.
