Netflix just released a teaser trailer for its upcoming film The Prom directed by Ryan Murphy.

Ryan Murphy is well known for some of his other work, like Glee, Scream Queens, and American Horror Story. The Prom is a new Netflix film based off a Tony-nominated Broadway musical by the same name.

The stage production also has plans for a national tour in 2021.

The musical film follows actors Dee Dee Allen and Barry Glickman after a failed Broadway production who travel to Indiana with a few other actors after hearing that a high school student, Emma, was banned from attending prom with her girlfriend. The actors' selfish activism mainly stems from hopes to fix their public image, but ultimately they work to create a great prom for everyone.

The film stars big names like Meryl Streep, James Corden, Nicole Kidman, and Andrew Rannells.
