Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra have welcomed a baby girl... and her name is Malti!

Born by surrogate in January, a copy of the birth certificate obtained by TMZ confirms that the child's name is Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.

Malti is Sanskrit, of Indian origin, and means “fragrant flower” or “moonlight.”

Chopra and Jonas first announced the birth of their daughter back in January with a joint statement to their Instagram accounts, which read,

"We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much."

The exciting news came just one week after Chopra opened up about wanting to have children in an interview with Vanity Fair. She stated,

“By God’s grace, when it happens, it happens. They’re a big part of our desire for the future.”

She also said in a March 2020 interview that family is “very important” to her.

“It is something that I definitely want to do and I’m hoping that whenever God wills it, at the right, opportune time, it’ll happen."

Malti is the couple's first child, making Nick the last of his brothers to experience fatherhood. Kevin was the first, and is now father to two children, but he explained that sharing uninvited advice with his brothers is "not a good thing to do." He added,

"We've learned to just live your best life."

Joe welcomed his daughter in mid 2020, and confirmed last month that he and his wife, Sophie Turner, are expecting another baby to join their family.

As for Nick and Priyanka, they may have hinted at their situation as far back as November, when during the "Jonas Brothers Family Roast," Priyanka joked,

"We are the only couple who doesn't have kids yet. Which is why I'm excited to make this announcement... Sorry babe... Nick and I are expecting... To get drunk tonight and sleep in tomorrow."

Hopefully, they enjoyed that sleep while they could.
