One of Hollywood's most prolific actors, Philip Baker Hall, has passed away at his home in Glendale on Sunday.

Holly Wolfe Hall, who was married to the actor for 40 years, shared the devastating news on Monday to The Associated Press.

An LA Times reporter, Sam Farmer, who was neighbors with Philip, further confirmed the tragic passing in a tweet saying:

"My neighbor, friend, and one of the wisest, most talented and kindest people I’ve ever met, Philip Baker Hall, died peacefully last night. He was surrounded by loved ones. The world has an empty space in it."

One of Hall's daughters, Anna Ruth Hall, said the cause of death was from complications with emphysema. Wolfe Hall said during the veteran actor's final days, that he was in "warm spirits" and reflective of his life.

"His voice at the end was still just as powerful."

With a career spanning over five decades, the actor lives among the greats in the industry, most famously known for his role in "Magnolia."

On "Modern Family," he played the Dunphy's neighbor. In Paul Thomas Anderson's "Hard Eight," he showed John C. Reilly's character, John, the ropes of being a professional gambler. Other titles like "50/50," "The Amityville Horror," "The Truman Show," "Rush Hour" and "The Zodiac" appear on Hall's filmography, among dozens more.

Hall is survived by his wife Holly, and two children Anna Ruth Hall and Adella Ruth Baker.
