Prince Philip Has Passed | Celebrity Page TV

The husband of Queen Elizabeth II and Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, passed away today at age 99.


Buckingham Palace announced Friday that Prince Philip had passed away in his sleep earlier that same morning.

This comes after his stay at the hospital for an extended period of time earlier last month. Prince Phillip, who was going to turn 100 in June, was initially admitted to King Edward VII's Hospital in London on February 16. While there, he had a heart surgery and recovered until he was released from the hospital one month later, on March 16.

The flag at Buckingham Palace has also been lowered to half-mast and a notice was posted on the gates following the announcement from this morning, BBC reports.
