The Queen remains in Windsor Castle for her 95th birthday during the period of Royal Mourning following the death of her late husband, Prince Philip.
Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 95th birthday today, April 21, just six years after she became the longest-reigning Monarch in England's history. She also spoke out publicly today addressing the death of The Duke of Edinburgh. She said:
"I have, on the occasion of my 95th birthday today, received many messages of good wishes, which I very much appreciate. While as a family we are in a period of great sadness, it has been a comfort to us all to see and to hear the tributes paid to my husband, from those within the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and around the world."
She continued:
"My family and I would like to thank you for all the support and kindness shown to us in recent days. We have been deeply touched, and continue to be reminded that Philip had such an extraordinary impact on countless people throughout his life."
The statement was also posted to The Royal Family social media accounts.

The Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen had a 73-year-long marriage before Prince Philip passed away on Friday, April 9.
While there will be no gun salute this year to mark the Queen's birthday due to the Royal Mourning period, The Telegraph reports she will most likely enjoy a quiet lunch with close family at the Windsor Castle.
This is the second year in a row that the traditional gun salutes for Queen Elizabeth's birthday have been canceled. Last year, the Queen called them off in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. A Buckingham Palace spokesman said:
"Her Majesty was keen that no special measures were put in place to allow gun salutes as she did not feel it appropriate in the current circumstances."
The coronavirus restrictions still remain somewhat tight in Britain, so members of the Royal Family are not permitted indoors and the Queen is served by a limited number of staff this year, CNN reports. The Royal Family is also in mourning period until Friday.
