Remembering Those Who Lost Their Lives To COVID-19

This holiday season will be unlike any other for everyone, but many are mourning the losses of loved ones.

This year has been unprecedented and difficult in more ways than we ever would've expected, and the biggest thing on our minds is the coronavirus pandemic.

With the holiday season approaching, and the number of cases on an alarming rise, once again, the loss that's been experienced this year is coming to the forefront, especially on a personal level for many.

@FacesOfCOVID on Twitter is sharing pictures and stories about those who have lost their lives to COVID-19.

Additionally, some celebrities who have been personally affected are posting as well. Amanda Kloots—who lost her husband, Nick Cordero, to the virus—posted pictures of their decorated home on Instagram.

COVID-19 first emerged in the end of 2019, before becoming a full-blown pandemic in early 2020. There are currently over 12 million cases and more than 250,000 people have lost their lives in the United States alone. Many more have lost their grandparents, siblings, parents, children, and friends.

This year the holidays will be twinged with pain for many who have empty seats at their tables. So many people have suffered incredible loss this year, from the virus itself and its auxiliary effects, and it is absolutely heartbreaking. Please do your part to keep yourself and everyone around you safe.
