Van Halen's son Wolf took to social media to announce the passing of his father. In a touching tribute, Wolf shares what his father means to him.

Also a musician, Wolf says that he will cherish the moments he had with his father:
"I can't believe I'm having to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning. He was the best father I could ever ask for. Every moment I've shared with him on and off stage was a gift. My heart is broken and I don't think I'll ever fully recover from this loss. I love you so much, Pop."
Eddie Van Halen was known for his iconic sound, thrashing solos, and prolific career with Van Halen. Alongside his brother Alex on the drums, David Lee Roth on vocals, and Michael Anthony on bass, the group became a record-breaking machine, leading to Van Halen forever changing the rock and roll industry.
