Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg has served since 1993 until her recent death this past week. Today, we're looking back on all of the times this legendary woman has been an icon in our pop culture.

'On The Basis of Sex'

In 2018, this drama/biography film directed by Mimi Leder showed Felicity Jones portray Ruth Bader Ginsberg. The movie was about RBG's life before becoming a Supreme Court Justice, when she was an attorney, and how she first became inspired to change the way our country's Supreme Court handles gender discrimination.

'Saturday Night Live'

Comedian and actress Kate McKinnon has portrayed RBG several times on SNL. In this season 44 segment, Pete Davidson and Chris Redd rap to pay tribute to the Supreme Court Justice.

In 2018, directors Julie Cohen and Betsy West created a documentary to show the life and work of Justice Ginsburg. While in this film RBG herself is interviewed and speaks to the viewers, we get a closer look at what drove this powerful woman.

'Notorious RBG'

Notorious RBG Tumblr

In recent years, Justice Ginsburg has been called "Notorious RBG." According to Bustle, the name originally came from a Tumblr account started by Shana Knizhnik (that happened to catch RBG's eye) and it eventually became a book that Knizhnik and Irin Carmon wrote together, highlighting pop culture's fascination with this woman, including interviews from RBG herself, and her friends and family.
