Summer may be over... but romance still lingers on Hallmark.
One Summer stars Sam Page and Sarah Drew. Page plays Jack, a widower who struggles to relate to his kids.
"He's really at a loss. He never had nearly as strong of a connection with the children as his wife did. He even talked about how she made it look so easy. He just doesn't have that with the kids and he is really lost," Page said.
Page is a character actor who you may recognize from hit shows such as The Bold Type and Mad Men to name a few. He's also starred in the Hallmark films The Story of Us and All Things Valentine.
This time around, Page is playing the father who ventures out to his late wife's hometown with his daughter and son. While there, he meets Jenna, a divorcee played by Drew, who funnily enough also played a recurring role on Mad Men.
"It feels like an insurmountable task to heal this family that has been so shattered," Drew said.
Drew is a Grey's Anatomy alum who is no stranger to Hallmark movies either. But it's safe to say, this project holds a special place in her heart.
"There's like love on every page which I just love about it. The love between a father and a daughter, a love lost, a potential new love. It's just so much grounded, beautiful, real love," Drew said.
"We need people. We need help. We need community. We need family. To know that you can turn to those people in your life and those things in your life to find comfort and hope," Page said.
One Summer airs Sunday, October 3rd, on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
