A representative for the actor confirmed with The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday that he will not take part in the third installment of the Creed franchise.
While it is certain we will not be seeing Stallone in Creed III, there is currently no further explanation as to why provided by the inside source.
Stallone previously reprised his legendary role of Rocky Balboa as a mentor for Adonis "Donnie" Creed (Michael B. Jordan). Michael B. Jordan is also directing the third film, which is scheduled to premiere November 23, 2022. This is Jordan's first time in the director's seat.
The first Creed, released in 2015, earned Stallone a Golden Globe win and an Academy Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role.
However, Stallone's absence in the upcoming film does not mean we won't be seeing more of him or Rocky soon. He recently announced a completed director's cut of Rocky IV. He also recently shared ideas of a Rocky prequel TV series to Instagram.
Don't miss Creed III when it releases in November 2022.

The news was confirmed by one of the stars Tessa Thompson.
Michael B. Jordan will not only be starring in the highly anticipated third film, but will be directing as well. In an interview with MTV's Josh Horowitz while promoting her latest film Sylvie's Love she stated that:
He is directing the next Creed,
They were joking about Jordan's title being crowned the Sexiest Man Alive. Thompson also stated:
It's going to be ammo, I think, for me when he is engaging with me as a director. I'm just going to tell him to dial down the sexiness.
The firstCreedfilm was previously directed by Ryan Coogler and Steven Caple Jr., who directed the second installment. It has been made unclear if Jordan's mentor in the film, the one and only Rocky Balboa played by Sylvester Stallone, will return. The franchise is familiar where the stars took over as the director. Stallone directed Rocky II, III, IV and 2006's Rocky Balboa, but it has not been stated when the film's production will begin.
Ubisoft developed Assassin's Creed in 2007 and it was a major success. Following the original game came, Assassin's Creed II (2009), Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (2010), Assassin's Creed: Revelations (2011), Assassin's Creed III(2012), Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013), Assassin's Creed: Rogue (2014), Assassin's Creed: Unity (2014), Assassin's Creed: Syndicate (2015), Assassin's Creed: Origin (2017), and Assassin's Creed: Odyssey (2018).
The original game follows the battle between the Assassins, who want peace and free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through order and control.
NX on Netflix announced the development of the film through their Twitter account.
Below the tweet, NX also mentioned that Ubisoft's Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will serve as the executive producers for the film, combining the minds of Netflix and Ubisoft on this project:
Netflix will be developing an Assassin's Creed live-action series. @Ubisoft's Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will serve as Executive Producers
The film is currently looking for a showrunner as well.
There was an Assassin's Creed movie out in 2016, starring Michael Fassbender. This film follows his character, Cal Lynch, as he explores his family ancestry on his quest to take down the Templars.
There is not too much knowledge on the new Assassin's Creed in terms of cast, plot, or release date, at the moment.
Fans are able to purchase and play any of the Assassin's Creed games on PC, Play Station, and Xbox.
All we know for now is that fans will be able to watch Assassin's Creed sometime in the future, on Netflix.
It's finally March! I live in Maine at the moment, which meant it was a beautiful 41 degrees outside today, a statement I never thought I'd be saying with any sense of honesty. But anyways, let's get into this week's Tastebreakers!
Harley Quinn on HBO Max
This was my favorite find of the week. Harley Quinn has had a few adaptations in the past few years, the most noteworthy being Margot Robbie in the 2016 film Suicide Squad. While Robbie did an amazing job as the psychotic sidekick to the Joker, I feel that the general shortcomings present in Suicide Squad held her performance back.
On the other hand, Kaley Cuoco's take on the character is perfect. The show tells the story of Quinn seceding from the grip of the Joker, and overcoming the trauma and insecurities the maniacal clown left her with on her path to be the top villain in Gotham. A lot of passes have been made at feminist interpretation in the superhero realm, and I'd dare to say this one is my favorite.
It's goofiness doesn't overtake the pressing drama throughout the series, giving a lighthearted feel to an otherwise very dark situation, it's thought provoking and truly checks all the boxes for the perfect feminist superhero series. Go watch on HBO Max.
Far Cry: Primal
The Far Cry series is huge. It's probably Ubisoft's most successful venture aside from Assassin's Creed, and with the sixth installment of Far Cry coming sometime? I guess? It was supposed to be December? Then February? Now it's just "sometime in 2021"? Let's take a look back at the forgotten gem of the series.
Far Cry: Primal is so cool. Play as Takkar, a hunter from the scattered Wenja tribe, as you venture throughout the Oros valley during the Paleolithic era (caveman times). Unite your tribe under one banner, and take back the land that once belonged to you.
Want to make a spear out of wood and stone, then beat up a sabre tooth tiger with it? Want to ride a sabre tooth tiger? This is the game for you. It's exciting, the plot is extremely compelling, and for a game that was supposed to be a small project, it outshines even some of the main installments of the series.
S - SZA
SZA, aside from Kendrick, has clearly established herself as the most commercially successful member of Top Dawg Ent, a cultural force and a voice to be reckoned with. She's a star now, she'll be a star for years to come.
So why not go back to where it all began? SZA self released this mixtape, titled S, back in 2013 for free digital download, and it's pure SZA. It's far less refined than her most recent project, 2017s Ctrl, that grabbed the world by the heart and still won't let go. It's far less hypnotic than her previous project and first with TDE, Z. It isn't her best, because whose first is their best?
But while we patiently twiddle our thumbs for the Queen herself to drop that new album, or maybe for Anthony to get around to releasing it, who knows, check this out to hold you over.
Oh, Hello on Broadway
Oh, Hello is the lovechild of Nick Kroll and John Mulaney. Their two characters that have appeared everywhere from talk shows to The Kroll Show, Gil Faizon and George St Geegland, take the stage at the legendary Wintergarden Theatre. I mean the Lyceum Theatre!
These are the deepest, darkest, most twisted parts of the comedians minds. Two characters so unabounded by morality and social convention that they can say anything that pops into their heads. This show is weird, it's brilliant, and it's on Netflix! But before you check that out, I recommend watching the Oh, Hello sketches from The Kroll Show, just to get a feel for the characters beforehand.
This is a weird, niche brand of their comedy that somehow made it all the way to Broadway, and it's completely and utterly ridiculous.
