Simone Biles has decided to return to Olympic competition in the beam finals after stepping out of multiple other categories in this Olympic Games.

Simone Biles to Compete in Balance Beam Final

Biles made headlines and stirred up a lot of controversy by deciding to step out of the team all-around competition as well as three final events that she was favored to win in Tokyo this year.

Biles has been greatly supported by celebrities, athletes, and the public for her decision to put her physical and mental health above others' expectations and this final decision to compete in beam has people very excited.

USA Gymnastics Confirms Decision

Simone has an interesting history with balance beam compared to the other events because she won bronze in the 2016 Rio Games despite being favored for the gold. She has won three world championships in the event and will be competing against her gold-medalist teammate Suni Lee in this year's final.

Biles competing in beam may be due to her mental and physical health growing better over time, but she also may be making this decision for herself as she won bronze in the last Olympics and wants the gold this time. Simone is a world-class competitor and person; her drive to compete and participate for herself is inspiring for the entire world.

It will be interesting to see how exactly Simone feels with competing as she has repeatedly said that she has been experiencing the "twisties", a phenomenon in which gymnasts lose their place in the air. Hopefully Simone is feeling totally good to go and we cannot wait to see the greatest gymnast of all time return for possibly her final competition ever.
