Saturday Night Live kicks off this Saturday, October 2nd and three new members join the cast as Beck Bennett and Lauren Holt say goodbye through emotional Instagram posts.

SNL is almost here with its 47th season. Old members of the cast are going to be back, but this year, three new comedians are joining the "live from New York" stage.

They are Aristotle Athari, Sarah Sherman and James Austin Johnson.

Sarah Sherman

NBCU Media Village

Sarah Sherman is a Northwestern graduate who performs under the name of Sarah Squirm. She hosted the Helltrap Nightmare variety shows at the Hideout. Sherman has been on the comedy field since 2015 and her performances are often based on absurdity and fake bodily fluids.

James Austin Johnson

NBCU Media Village

Nashville's James Austin Johnson is mostly known for impersonating Donald Trump on social media. He has performed in the comedy show Rod Stewart Live and acted in All Rise, Better Call Saul, Caesar, Hail, Future Man and Tuca & Bertie.

Aristotle Athari

NBCU Media Village

Aristotle Athari is an actor and comedian originally from Plano, Texas. Athari is mostly known for performing a standup on Goatface (2018) with Hasan and Ali Minhaj and for his appearance in Silicon Valley, where he played the role of Gabe and The Coop.

If three members are joining the cast, two are officially leaving. Sadly, Beck Bennett who's best known for Vladimir Putin and Mike Pence's impersonations, is leaving after 8 seasons on the show. In an emotional Instagram post, Bennett shared several memories with the cast, captioning:

"Love you, SNL. Gonna miss you so much. Thank you for 8 years of remarkable people and incredible experiences that completely changed my life. I had so much fun."

And after only one season on the show, Lauren Holt is saying goodbye too. In an Instagram post, she mentioned all her love for having being part of SNL.

Saturday Night Live will be back this Saturday, October 2nd with host Owen Wilson and musical guest Kacey Musgraves on NBC.
