Casting Shakeups

There's some big news coming from the Days of our Lives set. According to Sloane, Melissa Reeves, who has played the role of Jennifer Horton on and off since 1985, will return to the hit soap for Christmas! In September 2020, Reeves opted to remain off the series as she lives in Nashville and commuted to LA for tapings. The star's children also welcomed babies, so she wanted to remain close to family in Tennessee.

Cady McClain stepped in the role as Jennifer, and her efforts secured her a Daytime Emmy. McClain will step aside as Reeves reprises the role.

Soap star Charles Shaughnessy will also join General Hospital in a "top secret" role. His character will debut in September.

Genie's Summer Break

In other news, Genie Francis, who plays Laura on GH, will be stepping away from the role for a little while as she takes her annual summer break. The star says she is looking forward to spending time with family and will be back on our screens in no time.
