Soap Opera Digest, Stephanie Sloane

Our Sonia Isabelle catches up with Soap Opera Digest's Stephanie Sloane to talk about Days of Our Lives actresses starring in a new Hallmark movie, while John J. York reaches a milestone as Max Scorpio. Here's everything you need to know!

The Hallmark movie called Helped to Death will feature Alison Sweeney and Kristian Alfonso thanks to a curious turn of events.

Stephanie tells us the way Alfonso, who played Sweeney's aunt in Days of Our Lives, participated in the Hallmark movie project.

"Kristian was filming a movie for Lifetime and when they found out that they would both be in Canada at the same time, Ali asked Kristian if she would do a cameo in her film and Kristian said 'yes'."

The two actresses were really excited to be colleagues once again -- even more to finally see each other in person, after not being able to due to the current pandemic. But Stephanie also reveals us what character Alfonso's going to play and the release date of the movie.

"Kristian will play as sheriff in Ali's film and the movie will premiere on Hallmark movies and mysteries on February 21st."

And there's thrilling news about John J. York as well.

Stephanie tells us that York will mark 30 years as Max Scorpio on February 18th.

"John says the job came at a time where he really needed work. His wife was seven months pregnant and he was working as a waiter at the Cheesecake Factory."

But this wasn't York's first audition. Around that time, he had tried to star in Top Gun for the role that Anthony Edwards got instead and for groundbreaking Thelma and Louise for the role that went to Brad Pitt.

Stephanie tells us that York feels incredibly blessed and grateful for having been there for three decades.
