There is a lot going on in the world of daytime television, so our Jaymes Vaughan is catching up with Soap Opera Digest's Stephanie Sloane for the latest news.
Big Crossover Planned
The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless are two of the more iconic soap operas on the air, and the two are joining forces for a crossover story! Soap Opera Digest got the scoop, and Stephanie Sloane shared the details with Jaymes:
"Y&R's Summer will head to B&B's Los Angeles to dig up dirt on Sally and she will cross paths with Wyatt, Flo, and Bill. Y&R's head writer Josh Griffith says that Sally came to the show with a great backstory, so it's fun to write scenes for her. Josh and B&B showrunner Bradley Bell tell me they had a great time collaborating on the storyline, and they feel this could be the first of many crossovers to come. In fact, they're already knocking around a few ideas."
Casting News
Stephanie Sloane also shares some of the latest casting news with Jaymes. Bryan Dattilo received a new contract from Days of our Lives, extending his 28 year run on the show. Sloane tells us,
"Bryan admits that he was surprised when they presented him with a new deal. He was happy to work without one, but he feels it's a sign of respect and an indication that there is more story to come, which is always welcome."
