It's another week in the world of daytime television. Our Sonia Isabelle is catching up with Soap Opera Digest editorial director Stephanie Sloane for the soap opera scoop!

The Passing of John Reilly

Soap veteran and General Hospital star John Reilly recently passed away at age of 86. As the daytime world mourns the loss the Reilly, Stephanie Sloane shares that GH will honor him with a special tribute episode that is under production. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Reilly shared how he began his career. Sloane tells us:

"John began is soap career on "As The World Turns" and he told us in an interview with the magazine that he ultimately signed on because it was his mother's favorite show and there was an excitement to doing a half-hour of live TV."

Julian McMahon's Career

Star Julian McMahon can be seen on hit TV shows such as FBI: Most Wanted on CBS, but he began his career in soap operas. Sloane tells us:

"Julian began his acting career in the United States on the soap opera "Another World" back in the mid 90s, and since then has racked up an impressive list of credits including Nip Tuck, The Fantastic 4 Franchise, and FBI: Most Wanted.

Sloane goes on to share that Julian "thrived" in the soap opera atmosphere and he holds his memories and lessons learned from the set near to his heart.
