Today's SeeHer spotlight is on Selma Blair and her new documentary Introducing, Selma Blair.
The popular actress known for her roles in films like Cruel Intentions and Legally Blonde is now giving audiences a look at her personal life. 3 years ago, Blair was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Her experience living with the disease is the subject of the new documentary.
The trailer teases vulnerable moments in which Blair bares her soul to the audience. This documentary not only gives viewers a chance to get to know her better, but it also raises awareness for Multiple Sclerosis. Blair's ability to find humor in such a dark time is inspiring, to say the least. As much as you want to cry with her, you can't help but smile at those moments of humor. Luckily, thanks to an experimental stem cell treatment, Blair is in remission. The documentary chronicles the process of this emotionally and physically exhausting treatment as well.
Blair took to Instagram to give props to director Rachel Fleit. Introducing, Selma Blair is Fleit's directorial debut. In the caption, Blair acknowledges that this project is "a change for certain" since she is the subject. Nevertheless, the film is a brilliantly shot observation of Blair's battle with the autoimmune disorder. Introducing, Selma Blair is in theaters now and starts streaming on Discovery Plus on October 21st. Click here for more about #SeeHer.
