Taylor Swift

If you ever thought for a second that Taylor Swift would let a pandemic stop her from releasing music, you thought wrong. The star announced she will be releasing her eighth studio album tonight at midnight.

'Folklore' Out Tonight!

Not only is Swift releasing a standard, 16-song edition of her new album Folklore, but she created eight deluxe CDs and eight deluxe vinyl editions to go with it. Each edition will have its own unique set of collectable artwork and photos. The news of Swift's new album comes from a series of Instagram posts teasing the album's mysterious and wistful tone that lead up to Swift's official announcement.

"Most of the things I had planned this summer didn't end up happening, but there is something I hadn't planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise 🤗 Tonight at midnight I'll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I've poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into."

The genius behind this surprise album is due in part to Swift's collaboration with Aaron Dessner, William Bowery, and Bon Iver, who helped Swift write and produce several songs. Swift names many more people who helped her create Folklore including Beth Garrabrant, who shot the mystical album photos.

Swift notes she is releasing this album because of the situation right now, and how she feels "nothing is guaranteed."

"Before this year I probably would've overthought when to release this music at the 'perfect' time, but the times we're living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That's the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much ♥️"

Folklore will be a follow up to Swift's previous album Lover.

Oscar Winner Regina King Makes Her Directorial Debut with "One Night in Miami"

February 25, 1964 is the night Muhammad Ali (at the time still known as Cassius Clay) defeated Sonny Liston to become boxing's heavyweight champion of the world. After the fight, he and three other African-American men convened in a Miami hotel room for what was to be a celebration. What actually took place isn't known, but just imagine what that evening's conversation between Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown might have been like? That's what Regina King's feature film directorial debut does in "One Night in Miami."
