'The Baby-Sitters Club' Reconvenes On Netflix | Celebrity Page

"The Baby-Sitters Club" is back with a fresh look and new cast. Re-energized for 2020, the series is getting a re-boot on Netflix.

The books, which author Ann M. Martin debuted in 1986 and the original series which ran on HBO and Nickelodeon in 1990, tells the stories of entrepreneurial middle-schoolers Kristy, Claudia, Stacey, Mary Anne, and Dawn. Led by club president Kristy, they launch their own business, offering babysitting services in the fictional town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut. Updated to the current cultural and social consciousness, each of the girls is dealing with their own particular set of circumstances.

Our Rachel Smith video chatted with Alicia Silverstone who plays Kristy's mom, Elizabeth and had this to say about the cast:

"They are interested, passionate little warriors trying to find their way in the world and that inspires me."

Working on the show was also inspiring for one of the young cast members. Momona Tamada, who plays club Vice-President Claudia, had this to say:

"It's just such a dream come true to be working with such powerful girls..."

With an all-female leading cast and it's positive narrative for girls, "The Baby-Sitters Club" is the focus of this week's #SeeHER Spotlight.
