With only 71 days until the 2020 presidential election, Showtime is turning up the heat with their new political miniseries The Comey Rule with Jeff Daniels starring as FBI director James Comey and Brandon Gleeson as Donald Trump.

In a new trailer released today, we get a closer look at the stakes behind the Trump and Comey dynamic over the course of 2016 and 2017. The trailer also gives viewers a sneak peek at Brandon Gleeson's Trump, the first portrayal of the president in a dramatic tone versus a satyrical one.

Based off James Comey's book The Comey Rule, the miniseries aims to shed light on what occurred behind closed doors between the former FBI director and the president.

As voters head to the polls this November, Showtime moved the release date of The Comey Rule from late November to September 27th and September 28th.
