BJ Korros of Shout Out For A Cause is with Jane Seymour at her 10th Annual Open Hearts Foundation Gala speaking with the star about what giving back and serving others means to her.

Barbara Eden is a living legend, with an incredible career across film and television. While she may be most recognizable for her role as “Jeannie” on the iconic I Dream of Jeannie (1965) television series, she has also starred in more than 20 feature films and made-for-TV movies, and had appearances in a variety of TV shows and specials.

How did Eden's Hollywood wish come true? She credits the YWCA.

The YWCA's Hollywood Legacy

At an event in which the YWCA of Greater Los Angeles honored Eden, she spoke about how the organization helped her at the outset of her career.

"I'm very grateful to the YWCA, because I was one of the young women at the Studio Club, and, of course, the YWCA ran it."

When Eden was beginning to make a name for herself, the YWCA's Studio Club was an organization that helped to house and feed young women pursuing the arts. In terms of where she would be without that early support, the star was very candid.

"Oh, I probably wouldn't even be here."

When Eden moved into the YWCA Studio Club, she joined a who's who of stars on the rise. This created, not just the circumstances for success, but unforgettable memories, some of which she shared with us.

“As I was moved in, Kim Novak was moving out, and of course working with Lucille Ball; my third job in Hollywood. That, I will never forget.”

Now celebrating 125 years of empowering women, the YWCA of Los Angeles continues its proud legacy as it continues to support new generations.

Criss Angel's War Against Pediatric Cancer

Criss Angel may be one of the world’s greatest illusionists, but his efforts to fight pediatric cancer are entirely real.

“Anyway that I can help make pediatric cancer disappear — I’m down.”

Angel’s son Johnny Crisstopher was diagnosed with a form of leukemia when he was only a year old.

“It doesn’t discriminate. It could affect your family, and if you hear those words that no parent wants to hear — it’s really a reality check.”

Naturally, Angel has a bigger bag of tricks at his disposal than most parents facing such a devastating situation, and he's now putting them to good use for the children and families affected.

“I’m here in anyway I can be used to help the kids that are going through this treatment.”

Three years after Johnny Crisstopher’s diagnosis, he is in remission, but Angel’s fight for the kids who face this challenge continues.

Criss Angel and His Celebrity Friends Help to Raise $5 Million

Angel uses every Mindfreak performance to raise money, and is now working on a star-studded benefit at his theater in Planet Hollywood.

Among the celebrity supporters in Angel’s entourage are Gordon Ramsay, Gary Oldman, Imagine Dragons, Paul Stanley of Kiss, and MMA legend Randy Couture.

The goal of the event? To raise $5 million in one night.

In addition to the fundraiser, Angel supports the Cure 4 the Kids Foundation, which is a non-profit that fights catastrophic, pediatric diseases. To promote their efforts, Angel has designed a themed room in their facility that sits next to another contributed by singer Gwen Stefani.

Criss Angel's Growing Family

Between his incredible career, and contributions to the world, Criss Angel continues to grow his family. He and ex-wife Shaunyl Benson welcomed Xristos Yanni into the world in January 2019.
