In the musical film Chicago, Lucy Liu makes a cameo. She plays Kitty Baxter, a wealthy heiress in the 2002 crime movie.

Beverly Hills, 90210


Most people don't think of 90210 when they think of Lucy Liu, but it was actually one of her first TV roles. She played a waitress named Courtney in season two of Beverly Hills, 90210 back in 1991.

The X-Files


In 1996, Liu had a role on the sci-fi series The X-Files. In a season three episode, Liu plays the role of Kim Hsin, the daughter of an immigrant who battles leukemia.



In 1995, Liu appeared in three episodes of the drama series, ER. Her character, Mei-Sun Leow, the mother of a boy with AIDS.

The Man with the Iron Fists

In the 2012 film, Liu had the role of Madam Blossom, a character in the martial arts film who proves that she has the strength to fight against the male fighters.

Set It Up


In Netflix's 2018 rom-com Set It Up, Lucy Liu has the role of the uptight boss Kirsten Stevens.

Ally McBeal


In the 90s comedy-drama series Ally McBeal, Liu plays stern judge Ling Woo. Her role in the series is what is known as Liu's "big break." After this role, she started landing bigger roles in film and television.

Kill Bill: Volume 1

In the Quentin Tarantino directed film, Kill Bill: Volume 1, Lucy Liu plays a starring role of O-Ren Ishii, a crime-boss.

Charlie's Angels (2000)

In the 2000 rendition of Charlie's Angels, Liu plays private detective, Alex.

Why Women Kill


In the 2019 comedy series, Why Women Kill, Liu stars as 80's socialite Simone Grove, dealing with her second marriage.



In the 2012 mystery series, Elementary, Liu plays Dr. Joan Watson, a companion of Sherlock Holmes.
