"Toy Story" is back and this time the show revolves around Buzz Lightyear. But the buzz on the street is that previous voice, Tim Allen, is not too fond of this solo story.
Well known for his role in the animated toy franchise, Allen spoke with Extra regarding his thoughts on the upcoming film and why he has "stayed out of this."
“There’s really no ‘Toy Story,’ Buzz without Woody.”
The "Santa Clause" star goes on to explain that the film didn't entice him due to none of the original team joining the project.
"We talked about this many years ago… It's a whole new team that really had nothing to do with the first movies."
Allen, 69, continued explaining his confusion when he heard the film would be a live-action.
"I thought real humans, ya know? Not animated."
The film "Lightyear" ceased to grab his interest due to the fact that it did not match up with its original plotline, and as Allen put it, he "is a plot guy."
"In 1997 it seemed to be a big adventure story and [lightyear] is not a big adventure story," he shared. "It is a wonderful story, but doesn't have any connection to the toy."
Allen has retired to infinity and beyond and passed his spacesuit on to the next, Chris Evans.
"Lightyear" is now in theaters.
