Wes Anderson's new film The French Dispatch premiered at the 74th year of the Cannes Film Festival in France. Stars Tilda Swinton and Timothée Chalamet clearly got their kicks during their attendance.

During an unprecedented nine minute standing ovation, the Doctor Strange actress was caught hilariously taping a reservation sign with her name on it on the back of Chalamet's silver suit without his knowledge, then promptly turning him around to face the camera as the crowd cheered on. Chalamet appeared to be amused by the interaction.

Chalamet rose to fame with his 2017 role in Luca Guadagnino's Call Me By Your Name, which earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor at the age of 22. His other notable roles include Kyle from Lady Bird and the main protagonist, Paul Atreides in the upcoming Sci-Fi film Dune.

Swinton is known for starring in both independent, experimental and mainstream Blockbuster films. Her previous roles include The White Witch in The Chronicles of Narnia, and Karen in the 2007 Michael Clayton, which earned her an Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

Among other attendees of the Cannes Film Festival and stars of The French Dispatch included Bill Murray, Adrien Brody and Owen Wilson.

The French Dispatch follows a fictional magazine loosely based around The New Yorker, and depicts the story of a journalist who writes for the publication, who is fighting for freedom of the press.

The film will premiere in theatres on October 22nd, 2021.
