Tom Holland

The Uncharted video game series first released in 2007 from Naughty Dog and Sony Computer Entertainment. Naughty Dog and Sony are teaming up again to produce the prequel film of the video game series, starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg.

The 'Uncharted' Saga

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune was the first game of the nine in the Uncharted series. The series was developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. This first game was released on November 19, 2007 and received amazing reviews leading to development of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, the second in the saga, released on October 13, 2009.

This game follows the life of Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter who uncovers historical mysteries across the globe.

The Movie Adaptation

The film will stand as a prequel to the Uncharted saga. A young Nathan Drake will be accompanied by a young Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg). Naughty Dog's social media released these two images with the caption,

"Meet the shadowy future without fear and conquer the unknown."

There have been few photos released from the set of the new film. From what fans can decipher, the film may find the two investigating and traveling the trails set by Ferdinand Magellan, during the first circumnavigation of the world at the time of the Spanish expedition to the East Indies between 1519 and 1522.

Original Nathan Drake

Naughty dog released a photo from the set of the Uncharted movie, with the original voice actor of Nathan Drake, Nolan North, smiling with the new Nathan Drake, Tom Holland.

North was a major factor in the creation of Nathan Drake and served as his voice up until Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, released in 2016.

Uncharted is set to premiere in theaters on July 16, 2021.

Fans can also purchase the Uncharted video game series, exclusive to Play Station, Android, and iOS.
