The world has been without broadway for 14 months now. Despite normal activities resuming such as attending a basketball game or going to the movies, the theater industry will make their triumphant return in September. To celebrate, the 74th Tony Awards will air on September 26th.

This year's Tony Awards will look a bit different than year's past, as the show will celebrate the work done in live theater for the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Streaming at 7pm ET/4pm PT exclusively on Paramount Plus.

"After this devastating past year and a half for our industry, our city and for the entire world, we are excited to finally be able to celebrate the return of Broadway, our Tony Award nominees and winners in this new and exciting format," said Charlotte St. Martin, President of The Broadway League, and Heather Hitchens, President and CEO of the American Theatre Wing. "There is nothing that compares to the magic of live theater—and we are thrilled to be able to share its celebratory return and the incredible talent and artistry of the abbreviated 2019-2020 season with theatre fans everywhere."

In addition to the return of the Tony Awards, THE TONY AWARDS PRESENT: BROADWAY'S BACK will air immediately following the award show. This special program will deliver live performances, superstar broadway performers and much more.
