Vanessa Kirby Talks Oscar Buzz Behind Her New Role In 'Pieces Of A Woman' | Celebrity Page

You know Vanessa from her roles in the Fast & Furious and Mission Impossible series, but her shift into the drama sphere isn't going unnoticed!

Vanessa's Moving Role In 'Pieces Of A Woman'

Pieces of a Woman just dropped on Netflix, but the powerful film is already receiving Oscar buzz for Vanessa Kirby's leading role.

Speaking with Celebrity Page TV's Rachel Smith, Vanessa opened up on the importance of the film:

"I realized there hadn't really been a film that touched on baby loss, so that was something I thought was so important. There seems to be, at the moment, a lot of people like Chrissy Teigen speaking up about it, or Meghan Markle writing that beautiful essay about her pain, in the hopes of helping others," Kirby said.

Even though all the award show talk is flattering, for Vanessa, this role has a much higher purpose.

"My biggest hope is that it reaches the people it needs to and it's a figurative holding of the hand for someone that's been through it. Our pain unites us and makes you feel less alone," Kirby said.

Pieces of a Woman is streaming now on Netflix.

Well, this is it. The last one. At least for a while. Hopefully, I'm back in the fall, giving you guys all the juiciest under the radar entertainment out there. But, for now, alas, this is the end. I'm doing something special today. I'm giving the usual TV show, movie, video game, and album, but this time, it's not under the radar, or new. It's my favorite things. Things where if people I love haven't seen them, I slap them across the face and make them watch. But, enough sappy stuff, let's get into it!
