In a recent podcast, Nick Cannon made anti-semitic remarks, resulting in ViacomCBS terminating their relationship with the star.

On the June 30th episode of Cannon's podcast Cannon's Class, he interviewed rapper Professor Griff, who had previously been a part of a hip hop group Public Enemy. While conversing on the podcast, Cannon decided to share his views on the matter by mentioning how Black people are the 'true Hebrews' and got into talking about anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.

The comment on the podcast that made ViacomCBS decide to end their relationship with Cannon was when he said:

"It's never hate speech, you can't be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people, when we are the same people who they want to be. That's our birthright. We are the true Hebrews."

Confirming the termination with Cannon, a spokesperson released a statement to Variety saying:

"ViacomCBS condemns bigotry of any kind and we categorically denounce all forms of anti-Semitism. We have spoken with Nick Cannon about an episode of his podcast 'Cannon's Class' on YouTube, which promoted hateful speech and spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. While we support ongoing education and dialogue in the fight against bigotry, we are deeply troubled that Nick has failed to acknowledge or apologize for perpetuating anti-Semitism, and we are terminating our relationship with him. We are committed to doing better in our response to incidents of anti-Semitism, racism, and bigotry. ViacomCBS will have further announcements on our efforts to combat hate of all kinds."

Cannon took to twitter to release his apology on the comments he made, where he mentioned how he is an advocate for people's voices to be heard and how he is holding himself accountable for his actions. In addition to the tweets, Cannon has been continuously retweeting tweets that condemns ViacomCBS' decision.

Cannon has a long history with ViacomCBS ever since he started out on Nickelodeon in the 90's, up until now where he recently had been the host of Wild 'N Out, America's Got Talent and The Masked Singer. The termination was a surprise to fans since Cannon had been so loyal to the network.
