It has been a tough year with theater goers due to the pandemic, however Wonder Woman 1984 was able to take in $36.1 million at the worldwide box office over the weekend.


The film was delayed numerous times, but the film has now opened in 2,150 theaters in the United States and Canada on December 25 and was able to reach subscribers on HBO Max. The film brought in $16.7 million at the box office and in light of the news Warner Brothers announced a third film is in the works, but no release date has been set.

Patty Jenkins will return to write and direct with Gal Gadot returning to the role. When the first film was released ii grossed more than $100 million and at the end of its theatrical run made $822 million worldwide. According to Box Office Mojo other movies like News Of The World earned $2.4 million and Croods: New Age earned $1.7 million.
