'You' Season Three Announces Release Date

You Season 3 Date Announcement

Netflix just released an unsettling new teaser for the upcoming return of You.

Everyone's favorite disturbing psychological thriller is back for a third season. This time around, You will follow psychopathic stalker Joe Goldberg as he embarks on a new adventure: fatherhood.

Season Two ended with Joe discovering that his new love interest and obsession, bubbly chef Love Quinn, is nearly as deranged as he is. The two of them murder Joe's ex-girlfriend (the musician, not the NYU graduate), Love's twin brother, and a journalist who got too close to the truth, and decide to start a new life together. Love also reveals that she is pregnant.

Now, with the past seemingly behind him, Joe will try to break free from his previous patterns of behavior in order to be an inspiration to his son, whom he plans to dub "Henry". However, if his voiceover narration is any indication, Joe will be every bit the zesty psychopath as a father that he was as a bachelor. The trailer leans into this with gusto: every bit of it is filled with subtle but unsettling imagery of stabbing, bleeding, and chopping, all under the guise of preparing a cake.

You stars Penn Badgley and Victoria Pedretti, with newcomers Shalita Grant, Tati Gabrielle, Saffron Burrows, and Travis Van Winkle joining the cast to replace the characters that Joe and Love murdered. Season 3 is set to premiere on October 15th, 2021.
