We Are One: A Global Music Festival Is LIVE! | Celebrity Page

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, film festivals around the world are coming together to launch a festival that is solely online. We Are One: A Global Film Festival will run from May 29th to June 7th, and the festival is to raise funds for coronavirus relief efforts.

With more than 100 films and 20 festivals participating, there are plenty of options for movie fans. Youtube dropped a preview of the film festival, giving a sneak peak of what to expect. The video includes short snippets of quotes and images to get fans excited.

We Are One: A Global Film Festival will be available to stream on Youtube throughout the week. This historic event will also include panel discussions with filmmakers and never before seen virtual reality presentations. However, the films will only be available for screening during their allotted time slot, therefore there is no recording or going back to view the film again. Each film will indicate where it is from and have introductions from the respective director.

The main goal of the festival is not to compete with one another, but to join forces in supporting each other. While streaming the festival is free, there will be multiple opportunities to donate to the COVID-19 Relief Effort.

Jane Rosenthal, CEO of Tribeca Film Festival believes that this is an opportunity to bring the film community together:

"To put on a film festival and collaborate with our colleagues globally, that wasn't a challenge. It was an opportunity for us to do something that is bringing us all together and also raise funds for these organizations that are helping the world fight this virus."
