Nick Jonas

It was announced on Friday that Nick Jonas is set to host the 2021 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 23 at 8 pm ET.

The Jonas brother made the announcement with a gimmicky skit video posted to social medias Friday morning.

Jonas proceeds the hosting job on the heels of Kelly Clarkson, who hosted the music award show for the past three years in a row.

While this will be first BBMA hosting job done by Nick, The Voice co-judge and coach won three BBMA awards last year with his brothers, including Best Duo/Group.

Jonas has also had some award experience. He recently appeared on screen with his wife, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, when they announced the Oscars nominations in March.

The nominations for the BBMAs were also announced earlier this week. Some top contenders are The Weeknd with 16 nominations and DaBaby with 11. Gabby Barrett is most nominated female artist with nine nominations, including Top New Artist.

The annual live broadcast will air from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on NBC.
