Broadway Is Back, Billie Eilish's Concert Film & CMA Summer Jam Preview | Celebrity Page

Ah, the end of the week! Believe it or not, today is the last Friday of August. With September right around the corner, our Sonia Isabelle is breaking down what's happening in Hollywood with today's Dish.

It's been over 17 months since a Broadway show has taken the stage, but that is about to change very soon! Despite the shut down, musicals and plays are ready to return this September in New York. With many of the name-brand shows set to return in the middle of the month, one musical will return in the first week of September. The Tony-winning musical Hadestown returns September 2nd at the Walter Kerr Theater.

As theater fans head back to Broadway, COVID-19 protocols will be in affect. You must show proof of vaccination and be masked to attend.

Speaking of Broadway, the iconic musical Wicked announced a new televised concert! Airing on PBS, the special will bring together the original stars of the production in Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel. The two will MC the event, so be sure to tune in August 29th at 9pm on PBS.

The current Broadway cast of Wicked will return September 13th.

Switching coasts, Billie Eilish is getting ready to release a brand new concert film in partnership with Disney+. Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to LA goes inside the mind of the popstar as she tells her own story of the City of Angels through the lens of her new album.

Eillish, who grew up in Los Angeles, will visit and perform from some of the city's iconic sites, including the timeless Hollywood Bowl. She will be joined by her brother and music parter Finneas along with Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Stream the concert film September 3rd on Disney Plus.

Finishing with country music, CMA Summer Jam will air September 2nd on ABC. With the biggest stars in country music set to perform, this will be a must watch event.
