Chicken Run

On the day of the 20th anniversary of Chicken Run, Netflix took to Twitter to announce that production for the sequel is expected to begin sometime next year!

The Announcement

In the tweet Netflix wrote:

"POULTRY NEWS: Exactly 20 years to the day since the original was released, we can confirm there will be a Chicken Run sequel coming to Netflix. Produced by @aardman, production is expected to begin next year. Eggsellent."

The original film revolves around a group of chickens who have come to rely on Rocky the Rooster (Mel Gibson) to help them escape a farm before they get turned into chicken pies. Unlike the first movie, which focuses heavy on escaping the farm, the sequel is about breaking back into the old farm. Just like the original, it will feature tons of adventure for viewers. According to Variety, the new film will start off with Rocky and Ginger's newborn daughter Molly and how she is outgrowing the human free chicken island.

We're very excited to see this second installment of the iconic animated film!
