Captain America's new site aims to show both sides politics issues and arguments.

It's no secret that today's political discourse can be cluttered in fights and misinformation. Now, Avengers star Chris Evans hopes to solve that with his new initiative A Starting Point.

A Starting Point

The new website founded by Evans hopes to bring both sides of civil arguments closer together in a dignified and reasonable way. While talking about the website, Evans shared his inspiration for the website:

"I was watching the news and there was something I didn't understand, and I went to Google it. And right away I was in the weeds, there was just this mountain of information to sift through. And I thought, 'What if there was a way that I could get not only concise answers to common questions, but get the answers from the elected officials themselves?'"

The site itself has three sections. The first section has three republicans and three democrats debating issues in a civil manner. The second section allows politicians to upload videos to give their opinions on subject matters without a debate. The third and final section is for politicians of opposing sides to leave "counterpoints" to the second section's videos. The site is revolutionary as it shows how our politics could be. The creators describe A Starting Point as:

"A Starting Point is a video-based civic engagement platform created by Chris Evans, Mark Kassen, and technology entrepreneur Joe Kiani. ASP's mission is to create a bipartisan channel of communication and connectivity between Americans and their elected officials with the goal of creating a more informed electorate."
