Is Christian Bale returning to Gotham!?
In an interview with Screen Rant, The "Dark Knight" actor shared that he would return to the beloved franchise, but only if Christopher Nolan directs.
With Michael Keaton reprising his role as Batman in Andrés Muschietti's "The Flash," speculations of Bale's return to the role have started to make their rounds.
"No. No one's ever mentioned it to me. No one's brought it up," Bale said, speaking exclusively with Screen Rant during the press junket for "Thor: Love and Thunder."
"I had a pact with Chris Nolan. We said, 'Hey, look. Let's make three films, if we're lucky enough to get to do that. And then let's walk away. Let's not linger too long.' In my mind, it would be something if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, 'You know what, I've got another story to tell.' And if he wished to tell that story with me, I'd be in."
While Bale's return to the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) seems to be a fever dream (for now), the actor is still playing a part in the superhero world. Bale is making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Gorr the God Butcher, who is the primary villain in Taika Waititi's "Thor: Love and Thunder" hitting theaters on July 8.
