Beauty Queen Gone Bad! Diane Neal Sounds Off On New Lifetime Film 'Circle of Deception'

Celebrity Page TV

Diane Neal takes top billing in Circle of Deception, which is the thrilling new true crime movie based on a frightening story.

Based on Ann Rule's true crime book Practice to Deceive, this movie tells the story of a small community being turned upside down when local businessman, Russel Douglas, is found dead.

"It is truly crazy. It is a true crime story about former beauty queen Peggy Sue Thomas and basically some ill deeds that she and some pals get up to," Diane Neal said.

Diane Neal shared more about the fun she found in playing a "villain" character:

"It was really fun and really cathartic to be on the other side of the crime... We're so used to just being all for justice and for whatever's right and doing it... And so this time it's like, oh no, we're victimizing people. This is totally different context. But it's really fun to get to play. Life truly is stranger than fiction... but is like [on] an epic scale."

Circle of Deception premieres March 6th on Lifetime.
