We sat down with the cast of The Handmaid's Tale for more insight on what to expect in the upcoming season.

The Emmy winning series continues with season four and the battle of Gilead. Joseph Fiennes (Commander Fred Waterford) told us what he thinks about the new season:

"This is the season of fight back. And, the season of freedom for some, but for Fred and Serena- no, freedom is gone, it evaporated, the tables have switched if you like

The new episodes show Commander Fred Waterford locked in Canada while Elizabeth Moss and Madeline Brewer are back in Gilead and on the run. Brewer shared:

"She's at a point where she's like 'I just have been through too much to carry on my back, I have seen too much, I have lost too much. If I felt all the rage and anger that I deserve to feel, it would kill me.' She just can't hold on to it, she lets it go."

On top of this, Fiennes prepared viewers more for what to expect from the upcoming season:

"This season is a season where there are huge changes. It's very likely Fred is a father of his son, and maybe, he will get to taste what June had to go through in terms of how frightening that is when your family unit is threatened."

The stars also expressed how viewers may feel conflicted throughout watching the season. Co-star Sam Jaeger (Mark Tuello) also shared:

"I think we see the world of The Handmaid's Tale grow so much larger... I think there are more surprises in store for the fans than has been in all three seasons before it combined."
