Kathie Lee Gifford Gets Deep In Her Newest Memoir

The former Today Show host discusses her faith and struggles in past relationships.

It's easy for people to believe that the faces you see on TV have the best and easiest lives, but as we've learned from many celebrities' vulnerable moments, that can be far from the truth. Former Today Show host Kathie Lee Gifford opens up about her struggles throughout her life and how she overcame them in her newest memoir called It's Never Too Late.

In her newest book, Gifford talks about her two marriages and the difficulties in each relationship. She was originally married to composer Paul Johnson after meeting at Oral Roberts University when the host was in school there - but the two were ultimately not a good match as she experienced their sexless marriage. Gifford told People,

""It was so damaging to me on so many levels, damaging for me emotionally as a woman to be rejected after saving myself all those years......I don't even like to call him my husband because he wasn't in the truest sense of the word."

Gifford also writes about how she learned to overcome both the infidelity and death of her current husband Frank Gifford.

It's hard for anyone to discuss the most personal and terrible things that happen in life, but Gifford believes her story can help other people. She says,

"Sometimes the past is not your favorite place to visit, but I can look back on things with a deeper wisdom now, and if I can share that with people and it helps them, then it's worth it."

What can't this woman do? Alongside her new book, Kathie Lee Gifford is also working on her newest Christian short film called The Way. She's been very outspoken about her faith and credits her positive outlook on life because of her relationship with God.
