Liam Payne wasn't exactly giving fans of One Direction hope for a reunion during an appearance on Logan Paul's podcast.

While on "IMPAULSIVE", Payne was nothing short of brutally honest while discussing former bandmate Zayn Malik, who left the boyband in 2015.

One segment of the interview that has caught the internet's attention is when Logan is recounting an incident between his younger brother Jake Paul and Zayn. After things got allegedly heated between the two in a Las Vegas hotel, the younger Paul brother took to Twitter to call the "Pillowtalk" singer out for being rude.

Amidst the social media argument, Gigi Hadid, who was dating Malik at the time, jumped in. Liam commented on the model's tweet saying:

"Then she tweeted something about get yourself a respectful man or something and that one didn't age very well."

The "Strip That Down" singer was referring to a separate incident between Zayn and Gigi's mother, Yolanda. It has been alleged that Zayn shoved Yolanda into a dresser amid tension between the family. The altercation ultimately ended his relationship with Gigi, and landed the singer 360 days of probation as well as enrollment in anger management classes and a domestic violence program.

Liam continues with saying that there are "many reasons" for why he dislikes Zayn, and implies that the 29-year-old singer didn't have the most supportive parents.

"My parents are overly supportive to the point where it's annoying at times. Zayn had a different upbringing in that sense and you can always look at the man for where he is and say 'oh yeah whatever that guy's a dick."

He continues:

"But at the end of the day, once you're understanding what he's been through to get to that point, and also whether or not he wanted to be there."

He goes on to say that he is sympathetic to Malik's past, although he doesn't "agree with any of his actions."

"What I can say is I understand and your only hope is that at some point in their life, the person at the other end of the phone wants to receive the help that you're willing to give them."
