We go behind the scenes of Instant Family with stars Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne.

'Instant Family' with Mark Wahlberg & Rose Byrne

In their latest movie, Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne play a couple who decide to start a family through adoption. Their initial goal of taking in one child suddenly becomes three siblings tripling their parenthood learning curve.

“I love the idea of telling a story about something so meaningful as the foster system and adoption, and kids needing homes, and being able to do it in a way that would be very entertaining.” - Mark Wahlberg

Lately, it seems that Wahlberg has become the go-to "cool dad" for Hollywood. We asked him what his younger, wilder self would have thought of this, and he was more than comfortable with the title.

“I’m looking forward to playing the grandad.”

Rose Byrne has been on a hot streak of her own, playing a string of hilarious roles in hit films. We asked about this latest character, and the feedback was unanimous.

“This is such a great character, I mean, Ellie is such a firecracker …” said Byrne.

Wahlberg interjected, “I wanted to play Ellie.”

Going deeper, we asked her if this is the 'year of the woman' in terms of funny females on film?

“Women are very multidimensional, and can be many things at once, and it’s great to see those roles more and more on screen.”
