Jocko Sims & Ryan Eggold React To Dr. Reynolds Epic Return On 'New Amsterdam' | Celebrity Page
The doctor is in! He's prescribing a weekly dosage of NBC's New Amsterdam.

Everyone knows that this past year has been a whirlwind due to the pandemic.

New Amsterdam is taking us through the reality of the lives of our frontline heroes and the multiple emergency rooms round the world as millions of people battle COVID-19.

The show's main character, Dr. Max Goodwin, played by Ryan Eggold, opened up on the show's choice to portray the global health crisis.

"We're certainly going to see that this pandemic, this set of extraordinary circumstances, that has really taken a toll on these characters. I think it is evolving Max's outlook on life and how he can do his job better and manage this hospital," Eggold said.

The TV doctors face equipment shortages, exhaustion and fear, which directly reflects what the real frontline workers have dealt with off screen.

"You don't have to imagine what that would be like because we're all living it, day to day."

Eggold also took to Instagram to promote the show's third season, sharing sentiment on the pandemic.

"I would say 'What a year...' but you've heard it all before and that would be the understatement of the century... All I can say is I'm so proud to be part of a show that tells the story of the women and men who serve our country on the frontlines of healthcare in America particularly in such a year when we needed them most."

New Amsterdam's second season was cut short due to the production delays, which left unresolved questions about the fate of the show's character, Dr. Floyd Reynolds.

However, fans were overjoyed when Jocko Sims returned as Dr. Reynolds in the show season's three premiere.

"People have been asking and hitting me up,
Is Reynolds coming back?'
Now, I'm glad to say that I am here!" Sims exclaimed.

New Amsterdam airs on Tuesdays on NBC or can be streamed any time on Peacock.
