Today Marks Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's 73rd Anniversary

It's a special day for the royal couple.

Queen Elizabeth, 94, and Prince Philip, 99, are celebrating their 73rd anniversary together today. The two were wed at Westminster Abbey in 1947.

The two are celebrating their anniversary with a homemade card from their great-grandchildren - Prince George, Prince Charlotte, and Prince Louis. In the photo above, Queen Elizabeth is wearing her Chrysanthemum Brooch, which was originally photographed on the Queen on the couple's honeymoon in Hampshire. It was even worn in their photographs on their 60th wedding anniversary.

The card from their great-grandchildren was a monumental moment, as the coronavirus pandemic has separated the couple from seeing their family.

The next couple of years will be quite the eventful ones as Prince Philip turns 100 years old in June; and 2022 marks the Queen's 70 years of being on the throne.

Queen Elizabeth was just a teenage Princess Elizabeth when she and Prince Philip tied the knot. They were married on November 20th, 1947 at Westminster Abbey - which just so happens to be the same place Prince William and Kate Middleton got married in 2011.

One of Queen Elizabeth's bridesmaids told People magazine, "With her bridal dress and tiara on her wedding day, she was a knockout, and, of course, Philip was every girl's dream Viking prince." We couldn't agree more. Happy 73rd Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip!
