Netflix- The Haunting of Bly Manor

Youtube

Earlier today, Netflix dropped the trailer to the highly anticipated The Haunting of Bly Manor. The show, which is one of many Netflix originals, is the second to come from The Haunting series. Viewers may remember binge watching the horror hit, The Haunting of Hill House back in 2018.

Bly Manor brings back the same creative team behind Hill House to tell a whole new story in a whole new house. Much like American Horror Story, previous cast members returned for new roles, including: Victoria Pedretti, Kate Siegel, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and Henry Thomas.

Pedretti and Cohen are most heavily featured in the trailer which is nothing short of dark and scary. While The Haunting of Hill House was based on the old classic novel by Shirley Jackson, this new edition will be a retelling of Turn of the Screw by Henry James.

This isn't the first time that James's horror novella will receive time on the big screen. Most recently, The Turning which starred Stranger Things actor, Finn Wolfhard, brought the tale to life in film. Though, given the creative direction taken on Hill House, it is very likely that The Haunting of Bly Manor will see many creative differences and liberties.

Director Mike Flanagan returned to direct the show after the massive success of the first. If you need anymore proof that the show will be good, Stephen King called the first edition "genius."

Be sure to check out this new ghost story when it becomes available on Netflix October 9th.
