The Stars and Executive Producer of ABC’s "The Goldbergs" | Comic-Con@Home 2020

For seven seasons, The Goldbergs have delivered laughs and lessons to their large fan base. Now, the series will be coming back for season eight, and the cast discussed details of the new season during Comic-Con@Home.

The Goldbergs Take A Whole New Spin

After paying tribute to hit movies like The Breakfast Club and Weird Science, The Goldbergs is experimenting with new 80s trends for the family comedy's season eight premiere.

Wendi McLendon-Covey (Beverly Goldberg) shared her excitement about the plans for season eight during the show's panel on Comic-Con At Home, saying:

"Do you remember our 'Dinner With the Goldbergs' episode? It all took place in a very small area. Murray's gonna have some strong feelings about sitting in coach."

Executive producer Doug Robinson gave a clue to fans of the show on what the season eight premiere will revolve around, saying:

"The only thing crazier than having dinner with the Goldbergs is taking an airplane ride with the Goldbergs."

What Season Eight Will Have For This Family

The comedy show revealed on Twitter that they will be paying homage to the 1980 film parody Airplane! for its season eight premiere.

But that's not all! Robinson also revealed some details on what season eight will bring in store.

Our friends at SlashFilm.com revealed some season eight revelations, which include:

  • Beverly Goldberg adjusting to independence and learning her place as a mother.
  • Murray (Jeff Garlin) has new adventures in his business, which may or may not cause some chaos.
  • Sam Lerner (Geoff Schwartz) will be featured more in the show, and there will be new adventures around his relationship with Erica (Hayley Orrantia).
  • Adam (Sean Giambrone) will see quite the adjustment on how to balance old and new when his school status starts to rise.
  • The biggest surprise of all: the wedding bells will be chiming!
